AVP has learned of an anti-gay incident which occurred in Crown Heights, Brooklyn on Eastern Parkway by Buffalo Avenue at around 10 a.m. April 29, 2017. According to media reports, a 28-year-old man was assaulted by another man who made anti-gay and anti-Asian remarks and kicked and punched the survivor. The incident is just coming to light now due to a police sketch being released.

The National Coalition of Anti-Violence Programs (NCAVP) has learned of the homicide of LGBTQ rights activist Bruce Garnett, age 67, in Chesterfield, Virginia.
