The National Coalition of Anti-Violence Programs invites organizations, agencies, and programs that support LGBTQ+ survivors of any violence to attend information sessions on NCAVP 2024 focus initiatives, with opportunities for further engagement in collective strategies and action.
The National Coalition of Anti-Violence Programs has been a consortium of organizations dedicated to addressing violence of all types against LGBTQ+ and HIV-affected people, and supporting the survivors, caregivers and community at large when they encounter violence. NCAVP is known for innovative reporting on the impact of violence on LGBTQ+ and HIV-affected communities, including its much-cited NCAVP reports on hate violence and intimate partner violence, and for championing survivor-led solutions to prevent violence and shift policy.
After a period of reorganization due to the shifting models of tracking and reporting violence and an increased understanding of support needs for all LGBTQ survivors, NCAVP is working to expand the coalition structure and strengthen strategic and collective action for amplifying innovative pathways to ending violence. In response to the increasing legislative attacks on LGBTQ individuals and communities, NCAVP 2024 initiatives also address areas at heightened risk of violence against LGBTQ individuals and populations. Efforts will continue to focus on the current and future needs of all LGBTQ+ survivors and through shared goals and collaboration, we will move toward lasting and meaningful change.
