AVP Vision 2026 & Beyond: Building a Safer LGBTQ+ Future

LGBTQ+ people and HIV-affected communities are more at risk now than ever before. And, if the last presidential election cycles were any indication, we are entering what threatens to be a contentious and potentially violent period in our history. Already, nearly 300 anti-LGBTQ+ state-level bills have been introduced just one month into 2024.  Our landmark LGBTQ+ Safe Spaces National Needs Assessment report proved that our spaces are indeed not safe at all, with more than two-thirds of them experiencing some form of anti-LGBTQ+ hate in 2022.  

AVP has developed a comprehensive plan to address those important safety concerns and strengthen and reinforce our ability to respond locally and nationally to the threats our communities face. We want to give you an inside look at our plans to further position ourselves nationally as a thought leader and changemaker in this movement, furthering our multi-level policy outreach strategy on behalf of survivors with our elected officials.
