AVP’s ‘Taming Your Taxes’ Gives Income Tax Filing Tips for LGBTQ+ workers

Filing taxes can be complex, even more so for us in LGBTQ+ community. Since many of us stand at one or more intersections, often with one or more jobs or sources of income, navigating our taxes can get complicated. AVP understands this and wants to ensure that our community is covered this tax season.

On March 20, 2023, AVP, in partnership with Grow Brooklyn and Mobilization for Justice, will be hosting ‘Taming Your Taxes’ a free, live webinar designed for the LGBTQ+ community and our specific tax needs. This session will be both informative and interactive, and our experts will be available to answer questions from attendees.

The LGBTQ+ community, through resilience and ingenuity, have forged paths of survival that often result in different types of employment or income streams that aren’t reported on W2 tax forms, like those in the gig economy, people working cash-only jobs, and those who are undocumented, among others.

Understanding the resources that are available to us and knowing how to file accurately will not only maximize your next refund or reduce your taxes owed, but will provide you with the tools and knowledge to feel confident every tax season.

Whether you’re a W2, W9, 1099 or cash-only worker, or just want to learn about the ins and outs of filing taxes, this webinar is for you.

Join us on Monday, March 20th, from 5-6:30 PM (EST) and make sure you don’t miss these money-saving tips!this tax season.
