Whatever level of commitment you’re looking for, and whether you want to make friends, give back to the queer community, or just experience something new, we’re happy to have you!

Join AVP as we celebrate Brooklyn and Queens Pride! March with us, support our tabling and outreach efforts, or package and/or deliver awareness kits to queer bars.
From learning how to stay safe and protect the immigration rights of LGBTQ+ community members to crisis response practices for events and venues, our Bar Safety Initiative supports our communities in preventing, responding to, and healing from violence.
Through on-the-ground outreach and canvassing in Jackson Heights and beyond, we partner with queer bars to raise awareness and connect people to vital, affirming services, especially for immigrant and TGNC communities.
We also offer opportunities throughout the year, including advocacy work and outreach.

If you’re interested in volunteering in a leadership role and have more time and energy to give, talk to Alice Volkov or another AVP staff member at any event you attend.
You don’t need prior experience. Just show up as you are! Some roles include a brief orientation, while others are explained as you go. Either way, we’ll make sure you feel supported, clear on what you’re doing, and part of the team.
