Upstander Intervention & De-Escalation

Whether you’re a business owner or a bar patron, sometimes you may have to break up an altercation or deal with unwanted attention. Knowing how to diffuse a tense situation and bring the energy down isn’t always easy, especially in a loud, overstimulating environment — that’s why knowing how to be an upstander and de-escalate a situation before it turns violent can be an essential skill. Check out some AVP’s quick guides below.
