About NCAVP
We work to prevent, respond to, and end all forms of violence against and within LGBTQ communities. We’re a national coalition of local member programs, affiliate organizations and individual affiliates who create systemic and social change. We strive to increase power, safety and resources through data analysis, policy advocacy, education and technical assistance.
Our Reports
We produce two annual national reports on LGBTQ Hate Violence and LGBTQ Intimate Partner Violence, the only national reports of their kind.
We use these reports to document and raise awareness of the prevalence of this violence, advocate for policy and funding changes that will increase resources to address LGBTQ violence, and recommend strategies to prevent, respond to, and end this violence.
Our Members
We are comprised of organizations and groups across the country that work to prevent and respond to violence against LGBTQ and HIV affected communities. If you are experiencing violence and need support or want to learn more on how to get involved in your local community, contact your local Anti-Violence Project.
If you identify as LGBTQ and have experienced domestic violence or sexual assault (including dating violence or stalking) you have the right to receive support and services.
The National LGBTQ Institute on Intimate Partner Violence aims to improve access to meaningful domestic violence advocacy for LGBTQ survivors of abuse.
We coordinate the National Training and Technical Assistance (TTA) Center on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, & Queer (LGBTQ) Cultural Competency.
We create resources offering practical ways you can address violence generally and specifically for transgender survivors and people of color.
In memory of the members of the LGBTQ community we have lost to hate violence and intimate partner violence over the year.
REPORTING
The reports we produce serve our movement as a tool to amplify the experiences of survivors, victims, NCAVP member programs, and to advocate for a world in which LGBTQ people can live free from the threat of violence
